Christian actor Kirk Cameron has known the Lord since he was 17. The Growing Pains TV star was invited to church by a young girl who was part of the show's crew. He had trouble believing at first, but then he read Josh McDowell's book More than a Carpenter.
"I finished the book and came out convinced that Jesus really was who he said he was," Cameron told Movie Guide. "Intellectually, I had to admit that I believed in God or that I had a hidden agenda to not believe in God."
Fast-forward to today. Cameron has partnered with Christian publisher Brave Books and is in the process of creating a live-action children's show in which he will have the lead role. The show's name is "Adventures with Iggy and Mr. Kirk."
"We want to teach children Biblical, moral lessons through their phones and the screen time," Cameron told CBN News.
He noted that the show would resemble "a wildly updated version of 'Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.'"
Cameron and those who are a part of his team are using crowdfunding as a way to raise money for filming the first season so they can retain creative control of the show.
"Parents and grandparents are sickened and tired of their children being attacked by the woke wolves of Hollywood," Cameron told Fox News Digital.
"That's why I'm continuing to work with Brave Books to dive further into the world of children's entertainment," he added.
