The fastest-growing churches of 2022 have officially been recorded and have been documented for readers to see. These churches have greatly increased in numbers within the past year of 2022, with active attendants skyrocketing as compared to previous years.
While church attendance has tended to be lower ever since the start of the pandemic, there are churches that have been growing in attendance within the past year.
These statistics come from the generous work of Outreach 100. Here are five of the top fastest-growing Christian churches of 2022 in America.
1. Lutheran Church of Hope
The fastest-growing Christian church in 2022 was the Lutheran Church of Hope, located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The Lutheran Church of Hope is led by pastor Mike Housholder.
The statistics from Outreach 100 show that the Lutheran Church of Hope had a 117% increase in its growth from the previous year.
The total attendance at Mike Housholder’s church is 9,915 people per week. With these numbers and the rise in the percentage of attendees, the Lutheran Church of Hope is the largest church and fastest-growing church in 2022.
The Lutheran Church of Hope was founded in 1994 and currently only has one location — the church located in West Des Moines.
As shown by the statistics with Outreach 100, online attendance has heavily increased by 700% compared to 2021, and in-person attendance has increased to 25-50%.
What is even greater is that the Lutheran Church of Hope shows in its statistics that salvation reports have gone up 100% compared to previous years.
2. The Summit Church
The second fastest-growing Christian church in 2022 is the Summit Church. This church is located in Durham, North Carolina, and is pastored by J. D. Greear. As per Outreach 100, the Summit Church had grown 122% since the prior year.
The total number of members at the Summit Church comes to a grand total of 8,259. These are astonishing numbers, as churches within my own community are blessed to have at most 100 members in their congregation.
By these great numbers, such as with the Summit Church, we can see God is bringing more people to come to know Him and to grow in their relationship with Him.
The Summit Church is a Southern Baptist Church under the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) that was founded in 1961.
This church only has one location, which is located in Durham, NC. This church is known for its pastor J. D. Greear as he is a well-known pastor throughout theological circles.
Despite the recent scandal of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), this church is still going strong. The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) scandal has caused numerous problems across Southern Baptist Churches, yet many attendees have chosen to stay devoted to attending their church throughout 2022, as shown by these numbers.
3. Eastlake Church
The third fastest-growing Christian church in 2022 is Eastlake Church. Eastlake Church is located in Chula Vista, California, and is pastored by James Grogan.
As per the statistics found by Outreach 100, Eastlake Church has had a 152% increase in members joining their church in the year 2022.
These are yet again fascinating statistics that show God’s work in the lives of His people. The total number of members at Eastlake Church is 3,413 individuals.
Through this date shown, we can be greatly encouraged to know God is multiplying churches and members of congregations even in the aftermath of a pandemic.
Eastlake Church is a nondenominational church that was founded in 1992. There are currently six locations; however, the most well-known location is in Chula Vista, California.
Online attendance for Eastlake Church has gone up 100% as compared to the previous year, and in-person attendance has increased anywhere up to 25%.
Salvation, as reported within the church, has shown there has been greater than 100% of people accepting Jesus as their Savior in 2022 at this church alone.
By these insightful statistics, we can see how God is building His church and bringing more people to accept Him as their Savior and Lord.
4. Vineyard Columbus
The fourth fastest-growing Christian church in 2022 is Vineyard Columbus. The church of Vineyard Columbus is pastored by Rich Nathan. The church had a 207% growth within the year 2022 (Ibid.).
Current data from the statistics show that the church of Vineyard Columbus, located in Columbus, Ohio, has 2,963 current attendances, which is 1,999 more attendance than in previous years.
These are outstanding numbers that can point us back to the gracious work of the Lord. All of these new attendees and members have only come to any of these churches by the Lord leading their hearts to Him.
Vineyard Columbus was founded in 1982 and currently has four locations across America. This church, as shown by Outreach 100, is dedicated to serving Jesus, and they are intentional about being mission-minded.
These practices and dedications have remarkably impacted the surrounding community with the growing number of attendees at Vineyard Columbus. Even though this church started out small, it has grown greatly since its genesis.
5. Flatirons Community Church
The fifth fastest-growing Christian church in 2022 is Flatirons Community Church, located in Lafayette, Colorado. Flatirons Community Church is pastored by Jim Burgen, and as per Outreach 100, they are one of the biggest and fastest-growing churches of 2022.
Statistics have shown Flatirons Community Church’s attendance has skyrocketed 96% this year, with a total attendance of 9,313 people. These are wonderful numbers that can help encourage us to know that God is at work, even if we might not see it within the churches in our own hometowns.
Flatirons Community Church is a nondenominational church with only one location. The online attendance for this church has gone up 100% as compared to the previous year, and in-person attendance has grown anywhere from 25-50%.
Similar to the other fastest-growing Christian churches of 2022, Flatirons Community Church has had an increase of salvations to go up to 100% in comparison to the previous year of 2021.
Why Does This Matter?
From all of these churches, we can see there has been a great influx of individuals going to churches in 2022. These five churches are the top five fastest-growing Christian churches in America for the year 2022; however, there are even more churches that have also reported great revivals in their congregations.
As we step into 2023, we need to be active in prayer and ask the Lord to continue His work in churches across the world. God is more than capable of amazing things, and He can use individual churches as well as individual people to help more lost souls come to know His amazing grace.
