Proverbs is often seen as one of the easiest books in the Bible to read, because it’s short and filled with short statements. While there is some truth to that view, the Proverbs are also full of statements that have profound implications the more you think about them. These statements encourage us to live righteous lives, face our flaws, and live for things that are truly worth living for.

1. “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” (Proverbs 1:8-9)
