Women Who Worship - Firm Foundation (He Won’t) from universalmusicgroup on GodTube.

In life, there are bound to be difficult and tough times. It is hard, will be nearly impossible, to get through life without experiencing circumstances that will test our patience, determination, and faith. One song says that even during these times, we have a firm foundation: Jesus Christ.

The uplifting and beautiful song “Firm Foundation” is from Women Who Worship.

Right from the start, the singer in the video makes it clear who is life’s firm foundation, Jesus Christ. He is the rock upon which we stand, according to the song.

The first verse goes on to describe Christ’s faithfulness even in troubled times.

“I’ve never been more glad
That I put my faith in Jesus
‘Cause He’s never let me down”

The song states that thanks to Jesus, when inevitable chaos does arrive, we can have unbelievable joy and even peace. The lyrics add that He cannot and will not fail us when we call upon Him.

The song's lyrics, toward the latter part, mention one of the parables Jesus told in Matthew chapter 7, beginning at verse 24. In it, Jesus tells his followers that anyone who hears the Word of God, follows it, and puts it into action is like a wise man. That man has built his house upon a firm foundation, according to Jesus.

On the other hand, Jesus says that the one who hears the Word but does nothing with it is like a foolish man. Jesus states that man has built his house upon the sand. His house, because of its foundation, will be shaken and fall, unable to withstand life’s troubles and storms.

Give this song about the promises and faithfulness of Christ a listen!

“Therefore thus said the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste”  (Isaiah 28:16).
