Christians understand how important it is to read God’s Word daily. However, another activity even more important than getting into the Bible is prayer. Followers of Jesus Christ should engage in prayer multiple times each day. It’s the all-important process of communicating with God, the Creator of the universe.

Christians are supposed to have and build upon their relationship with God. How is it possible to have a relationship with someone without communication? Without proper communication, a relationship ceases to exist. Prayer is the only way to communicate and express your thankfulness, fears, hopes, and requests to God.

Three youngsters—Biko, Manna, and Mfundo—appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and performed a powerful and moving rendition of Aretha Franklin’s classic “Say a Little Prayer.”

In the song’s beautiful lyrics, an individual is constantly praying for someone else. They pray when they get ready in the morning and prepare for the day. They pray when riding the bus and heading to work. The singer even uses their coffee break to say another little prayer.

“The moment I wake up

Before I put on my makeup

I say a little prayer for you”

It’s an absurdly delightful performance that you could easily listen to it repeatedly. Their voices are so smooth and soothing, so much so that it’s hard to believe that people so young are producing such an enjoyable and beautiful sound.

At the end of the performance, the youngsters get a well-deserved round of applause from the studio audience.

While the song is not exactly a Christian or religious song, the lyrics still help to point out that prayer should be constant. We can never pray too much, and there will never be a time when God requests that we stop or slow down our prayer rate.

Romans 12:12 “Being glad in hope, quiet in trouble, at all times given to prayer,”
