Lauren Daigle Performs 'Thank God I Do' on Good Morning America
It is always refreshing when Christian music gets highlighted on national television. In this video clip, Lauren Daigle performs “Thank God I Do” on Good Morning America.
We see Lauren Daigle waving at the camera in an incredible outfit with her bright smile. She is on the City Music Series to reveal her new music. She is a grammy winner and has over a billion downloads.
They begin to ask her about the new album. She shares how this album was songs that she personally needed right out of COVID and it was cathartic. She desired to seek healing through creativity.
One host shared that Lauren was supposed to have a concert in Nashville on the day of the school shooting and immediately did a prayer vigil instead. Lauren says that if there is “one shred of hope she could give, then that would be a gift.” Lauren reveals that she needed to find her voice again in a time of difficulty.
The piano begins, and Lauren’s vulnerable and authentic lyrics speak to so many of fighting fears and darkness. Here lyrics powerfully proclaim:
“I don't know who I'd be if I didn't know You
I'd probably fall off the edge
I don't know where I'd go if You ever let go
So keep me held in Your hands”
Lauren’s proclamation is that God gives her the identity she needs not to go over the edge. Her voice is powerful and confident.
We have such peace and joy listening and reflecting on this message that Jesus is our hope and that we wouldn’t have direction in the hard times without Him. He is good.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
