Emerging Country Star Makenzie Phipps Sings ‘In The Garden’ Acoustic Hymn from ccm-magazine on GodTube.

Emerging country music singer Makenzie Phipps has gone viral on social media multiple times for her renditions of classic hymns. She recently stopped by the CCM Café and gave us this amazing acoustic performance of “In the Garden.”

The old church hymns are classics and are still played in churches for a good reason. They are all so beautifully written, perfectly expressing the magnitude and depth of God’s love, faithfulness and mercy. “In the Garden,” much like “Amazing Grace,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “How Great Thou Art,” perfectly fits into this category of deeply cherished and beloved hymns that describe the awe-inspiring nature of God.

Makenzie, as she displays in the clip, is an immensely talented musician. In addition to strumming along on her guitar, she provides a noteworthy vocal performance. Her singing of the classic hymn is stellar. The beautiful tone of her voice works perfectly with the lyrics about being a child of God.

“And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known”

The sweet, soothing sound of the young woman’s voice makes this rendition of the beloved hymn well worth a listen or two or three.

Also, her musical performance comes off as so effortless and natural that it’s somewhat hard to believe someone so young sounding so professional and polished this early in her career.

The young woman also truly enjoys what she’s doing and the music she’s playing.

At the beginning of the clip, before her performance, Makenzie mentioned how she felt that “In the Garden” is “actually one of the more underrated songs” when it comes to hymns. She added how “she actually loves” performing the song about walking and talking with and belonging to the Creator of the universe.

1 John 3:1 “See what great love the Father has given us in naming us the children of God; and such we are. For this reason, the world does not see who we are, because it did not see who he was.”
