American Idol Winner Iam Tongi ‘If I Could Only Fly’ Acoustic Video

American Idol winner Iam Tongi has turned in a stunning and moving performance of a classic country music tune, “If I Could Only Fly.”

Iam is a talented young man with a sweet and melodic voice from God Himself. During his time on American Idol, Iam consistently met and exceeded the judges and the studio audience’s expectations. The reason why he would eventually go on to win the top spot on the show was evident to all. 

Since the show ended, Iam has continued to show why he was named the winner of American Idol’s season 21. He has put out several videos on YouTube showcasing his beautiful voice and immense musical talent, which now includes a cover of “If I Could Only Fly.” "If I Could Only Fly" is a tune previously performed by country music legend Merle Haggard.

Iam’s soothing and beautiful voice, which is always full of so much emotion, is a perfect fit for the sad love song about two people longing to be together and reunited. 

“If I could only fly, If I could only fly
I’d bid this place goodbye to come and be with you

This is another fantastic and lovely performance from a musically gifted young man. There likely isn’t a song or genre that Iam could not sing. He knocks every single performance and cover out of the park, a statement sure to get near 100% agreement. 

With the overwhelming amount of emotion in his voice, Iam immediately pulls any and every audience into the song. He makes you feel the weight, the meaning and the feeling behind the song’s lyrics. He connects with his audience and does so in such an effortless way.
