5 Powerful Prayers to Pray over the President

In a culture divided over politics, we need to remember that Christians are called to unity in Christ Jesus. God has not called us to name-calling and finger-pointing. He has called us to love and pray for one another, but He did not stop there. He also called us to pray for the authorities and even our enemies. He is in control of the world, and that He allowed the current president a position of power. If you are anxious about what might happen, then pray that God will be at work in the lives of those placed in authority. I have struggled with anxiety in the past about what was going on in the world, but the Holy Spirit always brings to my mind that God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). If we want to make a real difference in this world, then we need to kneel before the One who has the true power and pray in love for God to be at work in the lives of those He has placed in authority, especially the president. Pray for protection, humility, discernment, wisdom, and counsel. Then, we can know the peace that passes understanding because we have laid it all in God’s capable hands.
