17-Month-Old Baby Playing the Piano Might Be the Future Mozart

Updated May 26, 2023

One infant showed off his startling and shocking aptitude for one musical instrument.

Children are capable of much more than most people give them credit for. The mind of a child is like a sponge. During their formative years, as they explore and experience things for the first time, they absorb a ton of information. That’s why a healthy and loving environment for a child to grow up in is crucial for their development. It can set the tone for the rest of their life.

However, then there are children who seem to be naturally gifted. Some may come out of the womb being able to do this or that with a surprising level of skill. A video posted to YouTube shows a child, a 17-month-old, who appears to be a virtuoso on the piano.

The child, while sitting on an adult’s lap, tickles the ivories, showing an insane amount of dexterity and skill. The infant uses both hands and multiple fingers to play the keys.

Even at the child’s young age, he seems to have an understanding of what keys make what sound, where they are, and what keys sound best together. It’s startling to see someone so young and obviously gifted play the piano with such skill and confidence.

Most children that young man’s age would likely use their hands and arms to slam and press down on the keys. Not this guy. Instead, he gently and methodically plays the musical instrument with an astounding level of grace and finesse.

His playing would likely put a lot of other people completely to shame.

It's kind of mind-boggling to imagine what this child might be able to do on the piano in a year, five years, or even further into the future. God has clearly blessed this child with an absurd amount of musical ability.

"Train a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
