Why Must Christians Address the Issue of Pornography?

Updated Jul 29, 2024

I want to discuss a trending but uncomfortable topic: pornography. Many Christians struggle with this sin, which has severe consequences on the mind. In my book "The Naked Truth: Reclaiming Sexual Freedom in a Culture of Lies," I explore the science behind porn's toxicity. Pornography sears your conscience, making you desensitized to guilt and conviction, as stated in 1 Timothy 4:2.

Watching porn releases powerful hormones like oxytocin and vasopressin, which normally promote bonding and healing. However, in the context of sin, they create a confusing and damaging effect on the brain, similar to a Christmas tree catching fire. This rewires your brain, numbing you to real love, intimacy, and joy. Pornography damages your mind, body, soul, and relationship with Christ, separating you from God and putting you in bondage.

I address this and other sexual sins in my book and encourage you to seek help and God's forgiveness if you're struggling with pornography.
