How to Turn Memories into Moments of Healing During the Holidays

Hey sweet friend, if you are heading into this holiday season with a very heavy heart that might be just enveloped with grief and sorrow or pain, I first want to extend to you a heartfelt hug and say I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that this season can bring on so many different emotions. This marks the third Christmas without my mom, and I would like to say that it gets easier to carry this burden, but it just gets different.

I am sitting in front of our memory tree. We have lost several family members over the last five years and we just like to pray over this tree as a family and hang up memories for each one that we have lost. My mom is up here now, but we have other ornaments that we will hang up later this week as a family.

But I also want to tell you that 2 Corinthians 13: 3-4 reminds us that our God is a God of compassion. So hang on to that hope today, sweet friend.
