Are Yahweh and Allah the Same God?
Yahweh and Allah are not the same God. People make that mistake all the time. They talk about the historic Abrahamic religions, and I understand historically what they're talking about. But an illustration I've often used about this is if you're talking to a friend at a high school reunion and you're talking about this third person and you think you're talking about the same person. And then one of you holds out a photograph and says, "Oh, yeah, this is the guy." And then you go, "Oh, no, no, no. That's not who I'm talking about."
Jesus Christ is the clearest presentation of God, of Yahweh, there's ever been. He's called in Colossians the image of the invisible God. And when that God appears, when we point to him as what we mean by Yahweh, our Muslim friends go, "That's not Allah. That's not what we mean."
