Do Your Job

Pastor Andy Stanley in his book, “Choosing to Cheat” guides the reader through the journey of balancing work and life demands. A quote that jumped off the page at me was:
“You do your job. You love your family.” It’s when we love our job and do family that the tension escalates and the tug-of-war begins.
Potential church leaders in 1Timothy 3:4-5 are taught, “He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)”
Although this passage was written for church leaders, should we expect any less for other Christian leaders? As Andy Stanley says, “Let’s do our job, and love our family.”
