Monday 30th November
“And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked his father, ‘How long has this been happening to him?’ And he said, ‘From childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘If you can! All things are possible for one who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, ‘I believe; help my unbelief!’”
If you are struggling with unbelief, be honest about it.
As Jesus gently reprimanded this man for his unbelief, the man didn’t hang his head and walk away. Rather, he spoke to Jesus very honestly about his faith. He said, “I do have some faith, but not enough; Jesus, would you increase my faith?”
This is the kind of prayer God loves. The man did not try to use big faith words and `claim’ this healing as if he had more faith than he did. No, he expressed the faith he did have and then begged God to increase his faith.
God wants honesty from you today, too. Express both your faith and your struggles of faith to God and ask him to increase your faith.
