Time with God - December 14

Monday 14th December

Psalm 119:57-64

“I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts.” (v. 63)

Make sure that you have companions in life who honour God and love him with all their hearts!

Every one of us should consider our relationships from two angles: Who influences me? And who do I influence? We should be purposeful about both of these things because both are so very important in life.

We should be thinking about each relationship in our lives, whether the people already know the Lord or not. We should be thinking about how we can help them spiritually—how we can encourage them and move them closer to Jesus.

But we also need to be careful about who is being the biggest influence in our lives? Are they moving us toward Christ or away from him? Who is there in your life that really knows and loves the Lord? I encourage you to spend extra time with that person. Let their spiritual life rub off on you.

There are several people in my life like that. I make it a point to meet with them regularly and study the Bible and pray together. They have become one of the biggest keys to my spiritual life.

Do you sense God challenging you to think about the spiritual input of people in your life today? Remember, iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).
