Luke 1

And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And He said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

God has told us what matters to Him the most — that we love Him with all our being!

Think of all the commands in the Bible. As you read through the Bible you see how seriously God takes His commands. And yet none of those commands matters to God as much as this one, expressing His heart’s desire for you: love God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.

This beautiful command comes with a promise as well. This promise is yours for the taking.

Have you ever had a time in your life when you loved God with every fiber of your being? Wouldn’t you love to get back to those days?  If you’ve not felt that way about God before, then wouldn’t you love to start today? God already loves you that way and He wants you to love Him like that too.
