What’s Wrong with the World Today?

May 9, 2012

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12

One day a man said to Mark Twain, “I’m afraid the world is coming to an end.” And Mark Twain, the typical critic and the cynic he was, replied, “Not to worry; we can get along quite well without it!”

As we look at our world today, many Christians are wringing their hands and wondering, “What in the world is happening?” We see war, crime, violence, murder, and sexual immorality, and we think, “Is this really God’s world?” Well, the answer is yes, but we also live in a world under conflict.

You see, Satan has been given dominion over much of the world. He rules over the powers and authorities of this dark world. And because of that, he creates chaos and discord in the world as much as he can. This is the reason why there’s so much sickness and sin pervading our world today.

But the great news is that Jesus is in control. Though Satan’s power is real, it’s temporary. And one day, Jesus will rip open the sky and return, defeating sin, death, and Satan once and for all. Do you want to know what the world is coming to? It’s coming to Jesus, who is on His way back to rescue those who trust in Him!

THOUGH SATAN MAY HAVE AUTHORITY NOW, REMEMBER THAT THE DAY IS COMING WHEN CHRIST WILL RETURN AND DEFEAT HIM FOREVER!

Unlock the Power of Persistent Prayer

Dear Friend,

If you’re like most Christians, you would agree that prayer is a vital part of a vibrant spiritual life. But when it comes to your personal prayer life, perhaps there’s a difference between what you say and what you do.

To me, the reason for this is clear: most people don’t really know how to pray. That’s why I want to send you my brand new book, The Promise of Persistent Prayer. In this book I show you how you can tap into the promises of God and open the floodgates of His blessings. And I share with you the one thing that really matters when it comes to making your prayers heard.

The Promise of Persistent Prayer is my gift to thank you for your donation to PowerPoint this month, so please request your copy when you give. It’s my hope that this book will show you how to break out of the ordinary and unlock the power of prayer in your life!
