Parenting by Design - March 26

Jesus used everyday experiences to teach profound lessons, and you can do the same with your children, turning ordinary moments into opportunities for spiritual growth and discovery. By recognizing and leveraging the mundane events of life, parents can help their kids develop a deeper understanding of God's truth and make Christ-centered living a part of their daily lives.

Teaching opportunities

Luke 11:37-39: When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table. But the Pharisee, noticing that Jesus did not first wash before the meal, was surprised. Then the Lord said to him, "Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness" (NIV).

Jesus used simple experiences as opportunities to teach life-changing lessons. He turned the mundane events of everyday life into thought-provoking and convicting illustrations.

You will be presented with numerous opportunities to talk about Christ with your kids. A pretty sunset, an angry driver, or a TV program—all are chances to make God's truth a part of their everyday world. Help your children discover divine lessons in the simple experiences of life.

Recognize and use everyday experience to teach your kids about Christ.
