The Name of Jesus (Part 3)

Prayers offered in the name of Jesus have authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19). He doesn’t want you to possess Jesus’s power when praying in his name.
The enemy tries to convince you that praying in Jesus’s name doesn’t work. He realizes that Christians take his turf when they are on their knees praying in Jesus’s name.
You must believe that prayer in Jesus’s name does work. It gives you a new confidence and strength. You are not defeated. The enemy is.
When you pray in the name of Jesus, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). You don’t just conquer the enemy, but you are more than a conqueror over him. Your foot is on his throat. He is totally humiliated and defeated (Colossians 2:15).
You are not a dirty old rotten sinner – undeserving of anything good from the Father. No! You are a child of God, adopted into his family by his grace (Romans 8:14-16). You are an heir of everything the Father owns (Romans 8:17).
Jesus oversees all that happens in this world. There is not a blade of grass that he doesn’t know about. He sees every sparrow that falls from the air (Matthew 10:29). And if he cares about these minute details of the universe, how much more does he care for you – the crown of his creation?
You are precious in the sight of Jesus. He loves you more than you’ll ever know. Every second of your day is overseen by his providential hand.
When you pray in Jesus’s name, you are acknowledging this reality. The enemy has no authority over you.
And you are set free to enjoy the abundant life that Jesus has planned for you (John 10:10).
