The Battle

Someone hurt you and bitterness permeates your heart. You have been betrayed by a close confidant and you just can’t forgive. You are rejected by someone who you believed loved you, and the pain won’t relent.
How do you handle the hurt?
Please talk to a trusted friend. If necessary, visit a counselor. Learn forgiveness and how to keep advancing forward in life.
And here is something you especially need to know as you struggle with relational rifts: There is an enemy. He hates you and wants to destroy your life.
In fact, Paul wrote that our battle isn’t against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). That means there was an evil force behind the person who hurt, betrayed, or rejected you.
Think about that!
After all, you can’t fight a spiritual battle with human weapons. You need a spiritual arsenal to combat a spiritual enemy. Without this weaponry, you can’t win. You’ll be forever defeated. Your life will linger on the precipice of ruin.
But here is the good news: You have God’s spiritual weapons at your fingertips. He doesn’t want you defeated, but restored.
God wants you to live in victory over the forces of darkness.
Look the evil one in the eye today and say, “You will not win. I won’t permit it. The one who lives in me is greater than you are. Jesus guides my life. He will give me the power to love my enemies and pray for my persecutors. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Then choose to forgive – mostly because you know your true enemy. You realize the one behind all the pain.
Let Jesus heal you.
So you can enjoy the rest of your life!
