My Dad’s Best Parenting Advice
By David Chadwick

I always wanted to have children and be a good father. Therefore, the night before I married my wife, Marilynn, I went to my dad and asked him what would be his best advice for how to be the most effective possible father.

I will never forget his answer.

“Son,” he said, “the best gift you could ever give your children is to love their mother.”

What wisdom! Kids need to feel security in their home environment. They are constantly asking, Are mom and dad okay? When kids are assured of this safety, they can grow and bloom as God intended.

By the way, I did follow my dad’s advice.

Without question, it was the best parenting advice he ever gave me.
