If God Is Calling You to Another Job…
by David Chadwick
Is God calling you to another job? If so, we saw yesterday that most likely two factors will be present: a call to and a call from. You’ll sense a call to a new position. And you will feel that you’ve accomplished your work in your present place.
I believe there is another factor that will most often be present as well.
It’s God’s peace.
Jesus promised his followers the gift of peace (John 14:27). It’s not the peace of this world, which is the absence of conflict. God’s peace is altogether different. It’s inward. Circumstances may be howling all around you. You may be walking through tempestuous times. Life’s waves may be swirling around you.
But you have Jesus’s inner peace. Deep inside, you know that you are walking in the will of God. And there’s no safer place to be than in his will. He gives you his abiding presence. You are certain that he will never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
This peace is especially important when you know the future vocation to which God is calling you may be challenging and difficult.
But any problems you may face are secondary. What is most important is that you know that God is calling you to a new place. He has given you his peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7). It’s supernatural and seeded deeply inside.
If you have God’s call to and from, and you have his peace embedded within, I’d suggest you immediately start doing the following…
Pack your bags.
It appears that there is a new place to which God is calling you.
