Howard Chadwick
By David Chadwick
Howard Chadwick. My dad. He died seven years ago. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t think about him.
Dad helped me learn faith, something much more caught than taught. Long before I could remember any Bible verse he taught me, I saw him live out Bible verses in his life.
Dad taught me about love. He remained married to mom for 63 years – even when her mind was ravaged by dementia during her last years on earth.
In my young years, I remember dad as large and imposing. He didn’t hesitate to discipline disrespect or disobedience. In my adult years, he became more and more my close friend.
Dad was my father and my friend. I am who I am largely because of him. Anything I teach anyone most likely has its roots somewhere in what my dad taught me.
Therefore, imitate me as I imitate my dad, Howard Chadwick, a truly great man.
Dad, I can’t wait to see you again in heaven!
Live in-tune with the heartbeat of God!
