Be Prompt!

My dad was a prompt-freak. He disciplined himself to always be on time. He passed this life conviction on to me.
I asked dad why being prompt was so important to him. “Son,” he responded, “when you’re late, you’re stealing other people’s time. They’ve carved out valuable minutes from their busy schedules to meet with you. If you’re late, you’re stealing from their day. You don’t like being a thief, do you?”
No, I don’t want to be a thief. Do not steal is one of the Ten Commandments. Stealing is strictly forbidden for those who want to honor God.
Thanks, Dad, for reminding me of an important way to never steal from someone.
