Be a Guardian
by David Chadwick

In Bible times, for a city to be safe, there needed to be strong walls erected around the city.

When an enemy attacked a city, he would first lay siege against the walls.

The stronger the walls, the stronger a city would be. Conversely, the weaker the walls, the weaker the city.

A way for a husband to honor his wife is to learn to be a guardian of the walls he builds around his marriage and family.

These walls need to be impregnable against the enemy, the devil. The husband knows his schemes. The devil will not win. Temptation is recognized (Matthew 6:13). Immorality is fled from (1 Corinthians 6:18). The marriage and family are led in the paths of righteousness for the Lord’s sake (Psalm 23:3).

The husband knows his wife’s weaknesses. Regularly and spiritually, he walks her walls. He warns her when he sees an attack brewing.

The husband knows his kids’ weaknesses. He talks with them and hears their fears. He is aware of their hurts, hang-ups, and habits. He prays constantly for them.

Husbands, you are called to be the guardians of your marriage and family.

If you don’t do it, who will?

Discover God’s path to a better marriage

A key to making your marriage the best it can be isn’t a secret. God commands spouses to give honor to one another – and blesses them for doing so!

David Chadwick and his wife, Marilynn, unpack the biblical meaning of honor in these two special books, Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Husband and Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Wife.

You’ll find humor, humility and a passion for Christ that will inspire you to love your spouse in new ways that:

  • Reignite the “spark” you remember
  • Deepen trust and the intimacy you long for
  • Connect you to God’s original and joy-filled intent for marriage

Both books are our way of saying thanks for your gift below to help share Jesus and the life-changing new perspective He gives.

Thank you so much for your support today – and may you find new reason for hope as He helps you improve your marriage!
