Take It Personally!
Today's Scripture
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." Psalm 139:13-16 NLT
Thoughts for Today
Jesus didn't die on the cross for mankind in general. He died for every individual who has ever lived or will ever live. He died for you. Personally.
God knew you before you were born - everything about you and your life. He knows about the hand-me-downs you have received from your family. And He cares. Before the world began, God had a plan for your release from hand-me-downs. You are more than a number on a computer screen or just another name in a counselor's appointment book. Jesus knows who you are, and He knows your family tree.
Consider this …
When someone's careless words offend us or hurt us, friends might tell us not to take it personally. But with Jesus, you can take all He does and is personally. His love. His sacrifice. His forgiveness. His patience. His strength. His guidance. His help. His protection. His comfort. All for you - personally!
No matter what you've done, He loves you and will forgive you when you come to Him. No matter what difficult times you might experience, He will be with you. He will never forsake you. No matter what challenges you face, He will help you.
Jesus loves you unconditionally. And you can take that personally!
Prayer
Father, thank you for caring about me personally. Help me to remember that your love for me is personal. That Jesus died for me personally. And that He cares about all that concerns me. In Jesus' name …

The Ten Commandments: Applying the Foundations of Living to My Personal Life by Jimmy Ray Lee, D.Min. Knowing that there are absolutes that define moral conduct and ethical decisions is essential for believers surrounded by relativistic values. This guide helps us understand God's boundaries. It shows how the Ten Commandments apply today. It also discusses the biblical laws on which the legal codes of every civilized society are based. This guide is written in a way that helps people see the Ten Commandments in light of today's problems. Note: This curriculum was written especially for small groups, and we encourage people to use it that way. However, it can also be used effectively as a personal study for individuals or couples.
