Hands-On Faith for Families – Week of August 12, 2024

Focus on the Family presents a powerful theme for families to explore their faith, with Psalm 68:5 serving as a guiding scripture. By engaging in activities such as listing needs and praying for those without family support, families can deepen their understanding of God's role as a Father to the fatherless.

Theme: Keep Our Eyes on God

A Father to the Fatherless

Scripture: A Father to the fatherless, a Defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. (Psalm 68:5)

Play: Challenge your kids to list as many baby needs as they can in 30 seconds. Then see if your kids can beat their score by listing even more needs that older kids have.

Talk: Children of all ages need lots of things to have healthy lives. Some children, however, do not have families to help meet their needs. Thats why Psalm 68:5 says that God is a Father to the fatherless and will defend and protect them. Sometimes children are adopted by loving families who are able to provide for them. How can our family help those in need?

Pray: Thank God that you can come to Him in prayer. Ask God to help you remember those who have no one to care for them.
