Happy Fall my sisters!  I love to write easy devotionals, so I chose the one on wisdom!  (Enter laugh track!).  Seriously, wisdom is the top thing on my list that I want.  I can certainly use it!

Can any of you relate?

I remember reading in 2 Chronicles 1:7-10 how God asked Solomon, then King of Israel, what he would want, and he would give it to him.  Here is how the conversation went:

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”   Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.  Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.  Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?’”

Of all of the things that Solomon could have wanted, he asked his Lord for wisdom.  WOW!  Now that is someone I could admire.

Besides Solomon, my mom is such an amazing, wise woman.  She is my true role model.  She loves her Jesus, she loves my dad, and she loves my sister, my hubby, my stepson and me.

I remember coming home from school crying about someone who teased me because I happened to have a bazillion freckles.  My mom would sweetly look at me and say,

Sweetie, she probably doesn’t feel good about herself so she’s trying to bring you down.  Just ignore her but also pray for her.

I adore that woman!  I talk to her almost every day, and she always tells me that she prayed for me on her knees that morning.

Wisdom is hard.  It goes against the world’s teachings, but it is vital that we have it.  And you know what the great thing is?  All we have to do is ask God for it, and He will give it to us.  What a loving God we serve!

Sisters, we can do this!  We can be wise for our families, our coworkers, and the people in line at Costco – everyone we meet.  Let’s ask God together to bless us with wisdom.  He can’t wait to grant it.  Guaranteed! Be blessed!

Take Out:

Being wise today is not an easy task.  In fact, it is a God-sized task.  But God is ready and willing to grant us wisdom if we ask for it.

He is so awesome!

Dessert:

Heavenly Father, please give me and all of Your daughters Your wisdom. We live in a hard world, Lord, and we want to be more like You. Please help us be wiser in our decisions.  We love You so dearly! In Jesus’ Name, ~Amen
