The one warning you can’t afford to ignore

February 18, 2016

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. - Matthew 10:28

Americans are getting warned to death. Any cursory look at most packages today, and you’ll find a host of warnings about misusing the product. This is because manufactures are growing increasingly wary of being sued when their products are misused, so they are attaching warning labels that address any possible scenario.

One example of this was spotted recently on a Batman costume. The warning label read, “Parents, please exercise caution—FOR PLAY ONLY. Mask and cape are not protective; cape does not enable user to fly.”

The problem with these warning labels is that they’ve become so commonplace, they’re mostly ignored. So when a warning comes along that really needs to be heeded, many people just ignore it.

But one warning we simply can’t afford to take lightly is that of the judgment to come. Yes, many people will thumb their noses at God and ignore the Bible’s promises of the coming judgment. Yet as believers, we must remain vigilant in sharing with others about God’s plan and desire to see people come to Him.

God’s warnings are real—which is exactly why He’s given them to us. Heed the Bible’s warnings and tell others to do the same!

Prayer Challenge

Ask God to make you more aware of the reality of the judgment to come. Pray for a heart that wants to see as many people as possible rescued and brought into eternal life!

Questions for Thought

What does it say about God that He has given clear warnings of the judgment to come?

How does it make you feel that God wants to use you to extend the invitation of eternal life to others?
