Be Still and Wait on God – Beloved Women – April 28, 2023
READ: “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices.” (Psalms 37:7 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Do you fret over how others are prospering? Stillness and waiting are two things some of us don’t do well, but they are necessary in our relationship with God and with prospering. When we start the comparison game of our life to someone else’s life, we will become increasingly impatient about the things we are waiting on from God.
When we do this, we need only step back and be still. We should be still in our minds, thoughts, feelings and imaginations about our own lives and situations.
Wait patiently. For what? You should wait for God to do what only He can do in your situation. God is so incredibly creative that He has just the perfect way to prosper you. We sometimes think that only means money, but it means much more than that.
In the stillness, while you wait, you can hear all kinds of ways to prosper in health, finances, life, family, career and more. God is for you, friend. No need to compare. No need to fret.
Following God’s instruction according to this verse, is all that is required.
PRAY: Lord, help me not to fret over the prosperity of others or what they have or what they are doing. Calm my spirit to a place of stillness and quiet. Help me to be a vessel that waits for You and You alone. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
