They Had Been with Jesus – Beloved Women – September 2, 2020
READ: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: After the Holy Spirit descended on Peter and John, they began preaching the Good News of Jesus. In this Scripture, it tells us how the council was amazed at how these men were doing so as they hadn’t been to seminary school; yet they knew they had been with Jesus.
The part of this Scripture which has rested on my heart was the idea that it was known how they had been with Jesus.
No matter what the world may bring, I want it to be evident how I have stayed in His presence. If I meet with Him every day, I believe when trouble comes, I won’t have to be moved by it because I know who is in control. I want the words which flow from my mouth to be evident that I have met with Jesus and I want my actions to be Christ-centered.
I encourage you to stay in His presence. No matter the busyness of life, stay committed to spending time with Him. Let it be evident to those in your world how you have spent time with your Father.
PRAY: Father, thank you for desiring to spend time with us. I ask that You give my sisters and I that same desire. Remind us of the fruitfulness which comes from being in Your presence. Help us to seek Your heart more than Your hand. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
