Rejoicing During a Pandemic – Beloved Women – October 21, 2020

READ: “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 ESV).

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: How will history remember the year 2020? Will the year just be known as the year of the COVID-19 pandemic or will there be more to the story? As faithful followers of Christ, we need to learn to rejoice in each day because God made it for us. We can rejoice daily, even in the midst of troubles.

When our health fails us, we can still rejoice that God gave us another day with our family. When unemployment strikes, we can thank God for the new opportunities He will provide. If a loved one dies, we can rejoice in the love and life they shared with us.

No matter what happens in our lives, we must find time to rejoice and thank God for the day He has provided. Another day gives us the chance to change our circumstances or to share our faith with a neighbor. May we realize that every day is a gift, when we know they all come from God.

PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, this is the day that You made for me. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Help me always to find Your light in the darkness so I can find joy. Forgive me for the times I grumble and complain about the events of my life. I put my trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECT: Do you take time each day to rejoice in the Lord?
