Do What You Can – Beloved Women – May 17, 2019

“So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” - Galatians 6:9-10 NLT
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
In the fourteenth chapter of Mark, we see the story of the woman with the alabaster box. Committing an act that many would scoff at, she makes a choice to pour an expensive jar of perfume on the head of Jesus. Misunderstood and shamed by the onlookers, until Jesus speaks, “She did what she could” (Mark 14:8).
Her choice to do what she could or bring what she had to offer was more than enough for Jesus. Her actions were beautifully brave and widely misunderstood. Yet, they were accepted by Jesus.
When we give what we can, there may be plenty who don't understand. There may be plenty who ask, "Why you are "wasting" your gift or your time?" Friends, don't let anyone stop you from sharing your gift the way God has called you to.
Do what you can!
PRAY
Dear Father, I thank you for opportunities to use my gift. Help me to bravely use my gift to serve you. I choose to no longer dwell on the opinions of others and my list of limitations. I will do what I can for you, Lord. Teach me to do so with humility, wisdom, and grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
