Having a Zeal for God – Beloved Women – February 25, 2020
READ: “For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.” (Psalm 69:9 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: When I see the word zeal, it makes me think of the things in my life that I’m dedicated to or have passion and enthusiasm about. In Psalm 69, David is asking God for help and expressing his zeal for God. We know that David was not perfect, still He is known as a man after God’s heart. David was zealous and passionate for God and turned back to Him after sinning and making huge mistakes in his life.
We have so many things in this life to enjoy but our ultimate zeal must be for the things of God. We will always have things that take up our time but our ultimate desire in life must be to know our God and make Him known. We know that God’s will in our lives is a choice that we have to make each day but what a gift to know that we serve an all-powerful God who knows the beginning and end of our lives. God has given us many reasons to serve Him with our whole hearts. Let’s do so with zeal!
PRAY: Dear Jesus, May my heart be full of zeal and passion for You. Thank You Father for Your love and wisdom. Direct my heart Lord. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
