Gaining Wisdom – Beloved Women – February 19, 2020
READ: “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.” (Proverbs 4:7 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: The simplest explanation that I can give for wisdom is this: wisdom is the application of knowledge in all areas of your life. The best wisdom is gained through reading and gaining knowledge of God’s word since the basis of true wisdom is God’s word. Proverbs 1:7 speaks of both biblical knowledge and wisdom: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (ESV).
The act of submission to God is a wise act that leads to greater wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. This wisdom is not abstract but is a principle accessible in every area of life. God’s wisdom won’t steer you wrong. Seek it and use it to master this life.
PRAY: Lord, as we recognize our need for wisdom help us to be unafraid in asking for what You have generously promised us. As recipients of Your wisdom, may we use it to live victorious lives. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
