Surviving the Battle - Beloved Women - December 22, 2023
READ: “So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:7 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: Most people are not looking forward to battles. Illness, job loss, the disobedient child, marriage woes, or financial difficulties are not things we love to endure. In fact, they are quite overwhelming to experience.
Oftentimes, we find ourselves trapped in the "why" of our battles! But today I challenge you to move past the "why." The reality is that in most situations, if we pause and evaluate, there is much we can learn about ourselves and our relationships with Christ in these moments.
Remember these tests and trials come to make us stronger and not to leave us more defeated! The truth is your weapon in battle will be the Word of God! His words will speak peace to your chaos. They will speak victory to your battle. When you learn how to pray God's word over your life, you will find you no longer have to run from battles. Instead, you can move forward with great strength in knowing that if God be for you, who can be against you? Although your first response to adversity is to isolate, be depressed, or wallow in self-pity, I encourage you to fight the devil with your Word!
PRAY: Lord, I thank you for Your Word. It is my weapon against every attack of the enemy. Help me to stand on Your truth when I face adversity. I praise You that You go ahead of me to fight every battle. Teach me to not walk in pity but in faith. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
REFLECT: Do I proclaim the Word of God during adversity?
