The Path of Life – Beloved Women – December 16, 2024
READ: “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11 ESV)
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT: I walk past the entrance leading to a trail near my home daily, but I seldom see anyone walking on this trail. Most of the people are out on the sidewalk where there is light and even ground. The trail is the path less traveled.
In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus describes two paths, a broad and a narrow path. The broad path is simple to find and crowded with people. But the narrow path is hard with only a few people on it. When we follow Jesus as Lord and Savior, we choose the narrow path of eternal life.
The path of life which leads to eternal joy is nurtured through a deep and abiding relationship with God. The narrow path is not without obstacles, but the difference is Jesus. His presence fills us with unspeakable joy and peace on good days and bad days.
Those who choose the narrow path will enjoy unfailing love and protection in the shadow of His wings. They will also drink from the river of His delight. His light will guide and help them see. (Psalm 36:7-9)
Those who follow the path of eternal life have sworn allegiance to God. Their confidence flows from their relationship with Him. If we desire to experience God’s abundant life, we must follow His path of life.
PRAY: Lord, thank you for helping me choose the path of life. Open my eyes to opportunities to share this path with others. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen
REFLECT: Are you on the path of life? If so, who can you share this path with in your circle of influence?
