Life-Giving Thanks – Beloved Women – August 11, 2023

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
When we are suffering through difficult times in life, thankfulness is not the first thing to come to mind. But God tells us to give thanks in all circumstances. Even when things look bleakest, we have much to be thankful for: the breath in our bodies, the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and a relationship with the God of the universe. The list goes on and on. Our wondrous God deserves liberal thanks, praise, and glory. That’s the reason to give it.
Did you know that studies show that gratefulness reduces stress, reduces depression, helps to overcome trauma, and helps you sleep better? When we give God thanks He deserves, even in tough times, He is blessing us with what we need to get through the trial. Sister, I don’t know about you, but that gives me yet another reason to be amazed at my incredibly loving Father. Thank you God!
PRAY
Loving Father, thank you for all that you are and all that you do for me. I could never thank you enough. Please help me to develop a habit of thankfulness in both good times and bad. Regardless of my circumstances, you deserve all thanks, honor, and glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
