Birthdays on August 10

Mary Artemisia Lathbury was born in Manchester, New York. The daughter of a Methodist minister, she became involved in many denominational activities. We remember her for some poems that became hymns: "Break Thou the Bread of Life," and "Day Is Dying in the West."
