William Nast (1807 to 1899)
From Germany, Nast; To Germany, Methodism.
William Nast was born at Stuttgart, Germany. Nast came to America in 1828 and was ordained as a Methodist in 1835 to the Ohio Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He worked to organize German settlers in America into churches. He founded a successful Methodist mission in Germany and also helped found Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, a forerunner of Baldwin-Wallace University.
