Arthur Henry Mann was born in Norwich, England. He became an English church organist, who served a record 53-years as organist at King's College Chapel, Cambridge, where he became a skillful director of boys' choirs. He wrote much sacred music, including the hymn tune to which we sing "O Jesus, I Have Promised."
