Birth of H. Frances Davidson, pioneer missionary, the first woman to have earned an M.A. degree, and the first woman missionary of the Brethren in Christ Church on the African continent, helping to found the Matopo Mission in modem Zimbabwe. Remaining in Africa from 1897 until 1923, she returned to the States and taught at Messiah College until 1932.
