Carrie Ellis Breck (1855 to 1934)
Protestant
Many of Her Poems Became Hymns

Carrie Ellis Breck was born in Walden, Vermont. Although she could not carry a tune, she had a good sense of poetry and wrote many verses. Many of her verses were set to music, and we often sing "Nailed to the Cross," "Face to Face With Christ My Saviour," and "All the World for Jesus." The poems were written while she rested from her chores, her health being less than robust.
