23 Do not ignore the clamor of your adversaries, the uproar of your enemies, which rises continually.
23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth
23 Do not forget the clamor of your foes, the uproar of those who rise against you, which goes up continually!
23 Don't tune out their malicious filth, the brawling invective that never lets up.
23 Do not forget the voice of Your enemies; The tumult of those who rise up against You increases continually.
23 Don't overlook what your enemies have said or their growing uproar.
23 Who is it you have ridiculed and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!
23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
23 "'Whom have you mocked and reviled? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes to the heights? Against the Holy One of Israel!
23 "'Who do you think you've been mocking and reviling all these years? Who do you think you've been jeering and treating with such utter contempt All these years? The Holy of Israel!
23 "Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.
23 "Whom have you been defying and ridiculing? Against whom did you raise your voice? At whom did you look with such haughty eyes? It was the Holy One of Israel!
Isaiah 37 is the same as 2 Kings 19. Thus, please see the commentary on 2 Kings 19.
Matthew Henry's Commentary on Psalm 74:23
Commentary on Psalm 74:18-23
(Read Psalm 74:18-23)
The psalmist begs that God would appear for the church against their enemies. The folly of such as revile his gospel and his servants will be plain to all. Let us call upon our God to enlighten the dark nations of the earth; and to rescue his people, that the poor and needy may praise his name. Blessed Saviour, thou art the same yesterday, to-day, and for ever. Make thy people more than conquerors. Be thou, Lord, all in all to them in every situation and circumstances; for then thy poor and needy people will praise thy name.
