24 And she called his name Joseph;
24 And she called his name Joseph,
24 She named him Joseph (Add), praying, "May God add yet another son to me."
24 So she called his name Joseph, and said, "The Lord shall add to me another son."
24 And she named him Joseph, for she said, "May the Lord add yet another son to my family."
Matthew Henry's Commentary on Genesis 30:24
Commentary on Genesis 30:14-24
(Read Genesis 30:14-24)

The truth appears to be, that they were influenced by the promises of God to Abraham; whose posterity were promised the richest blessings, and from whom the Messiah was to descend.
