Stephen Davey is the senior pastor at Colonial Baptist Church and President of Shepherds Theological Seminary, as well as principal Bible teacher on the "Wisdom for the Heart" broadcast. He attended Liberty University and Tennessee Temple University, graduating in 1981. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Sacred Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and has been honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree from an STS sister seminary in Chennai, India.
Following graduation from Dallas, Stephen moved his young family to Cary in 1986 to found Colonial. The church began in a middle school and eventually moved to its current 40-acre campus where a vibrant congregation comprised of 2,800 households attends three Sunday morning services and participates in over 100 outreach ministries. Recent additions allow the church and student body to enjoy the Colonial Cafe, a beautiful courtyard, a 600-seat theatre-style chapel, excellent classrooms and study areas, and expanded library services. The church gladly offers its campus as a home for Shepherds Seminary.
Stephen enjoys connecting with seminary students both inside and outside the classroom. He presently maintains a full schedule leading Shepherds, directing Wisdom for the Heart [heard on five continents and throughout the USA on 241 radio stations and Trans World Radio], and fulfilling his primary ministry duties as pastor/teacher of Colonial Baptist Church. He has written three commentaries and numerous smaller books published by Charity House, Ambassador/Emerald House Publishers, and Wisdom for the Heart.
